7 Recipes for a Heavenly Soak

Skin is the body’s largest organ of elimination, so having a good sweat daily is a healthy detoxification practice. Sweating via exercise, sauna, or bath activates your skin’s detox function and allows for the reduction of toxins and acid waste in the body.

Baths are a great self-care indulgence and one that should be practiced several times weekly. A hot bath raises your body temperature, increases blood circulation, increases oxygenation of cells, and causes your skin’s pores to open. When pores are open, the skin absorbs ingredients in bath water giving your body an extra boost. When you combine a hot bath with ingredients that benefit the body, you go next-level.

I have listed my favorite bath recipes and their benefits below.

Instructions For All Baths:

Fill bath with hot water (as hot as you can withstand without burning or overheating yourself).

Add ingredients while bath is filling. Do not inhale powders as some (like ginger) can burn.

Soak for 20 minutes.

Rinse with plain water after your bath so you don’t stain or discolor towels, clothes or sheets.

*Avoid getting bath water in your eyes because some ingredients will sting.

*Rinse your tub to prevent discoloring.

*As with all detoxes, drink plenty of water before and after your bath.

Happy Soaking,
